ABOUT DR. SARSAM

BIO
Dr. Sarsam was born and raised in Baghdad / IRAQ and attended Baghdad College High School (founded by American Jesuits from Boston, Massachusetts). Dr. Sarsam went through a special Academic Acceleration Program where he obtained his Baccalaureate degree in two years (rather than three) and graduated first in his class of more than three hundred students.
Dr. Sarsam received his medical education at the University of Baghdad / College of Medicine in Iraq. Following the second Gulf War, he moved to the United States and attended the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency. He then completed his fellowship in General and Interventional Cardiology at Michigan State University / Providence Providence-Park Hospitals in Detroit, MI. Dr. Sarsam also specializes in heart failure and attended Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute / Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
Dr. Sarsam served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He was awarded as a Chief Resident during his training at the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center, and as a Chief Interventional Fellow during his training at Michigan State University / Providence Providence-Park Hospitals.
Dr. Sarsam is dedicated to research, teaching, applying evidence-based medicine and performing minimally invasive percutaneous procedures for patients with cardiovascular disease.

I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and a love for the sciences led me towards this career. Shortly after completing my Baccalaureate degree, I went on to study medicine and eventually set up my personal practice as a local Temecula Cardiologist.
